It seems that Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor have been stuck with a rivalry since 2014 and have finally settled it down in a fight that ended quite painfully.
After a difficult battle, “The Notorious” McGregor was given another battle of his own as he exited the fight with a terrible leg injury that would require him to undergo surgery. There is no specific time or date yet on when Mcgregor can return, but UFC President Dana White reported that he’s willing to pursue a 4th round of the fight between McGregor and Poirier because of how things ended with the third game.
Poirier responded with “Sometimes these things happen” when asked if the injury would exclude his right to victory. He also acknowledged that he beat McGregor. Things still seem pretty heated up as McGregor is looking forward to a rematch and is determined to fight Poirier again wherever they are and whatever it takes.
“We are going to fight again whether it’s in the octagon or on the sidewalk,” Poirier said. “You don’t say the stuff he said.”
According to White, “I don’t know what the landscape’s going to look like when [McGregor is] ready or how long it’s going to be, so to say definitively, I can't be right here, right now, but you always have that rematch.”
Conor McGregor must rest up and expect a full recovery soon before getting back and ready to finish what he started with Dustin Poirier.

A possible fourth fight?
But neither White nor Poirier dismissed a fourth fight between him and McGregor, who demanded a third rematch.“We are going to fight again whether it’s in the octagon or on the sidewalk,” Poirier said. “You don’t say the stuff he said.”
