The NBA conducted its tiebreakers for the 2021 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday. It settled the ties of some teams slated to pick No. 4, No. 8, No. 11, No. 19, No. 21 and No. 25.
Each tie was decided through a toss coin.
Pelicans falls to 10th
The Pelicans were tied for No. 8 in the NBA Draft. They shared the same odds with the Bulls and Kings. Unfortunately for them, the were the losers as the Bulls got the No. 8 pick and the Kings the No. 9 pick.
Still, the team has a 20.3% chance of jumping into the top four and a 4.5% chance of landing the No. 1 pick.
Not a bad position
All the Pelicans needs to do is to draft right. The No. 10 pick has produced a number of good names in the past.
Notable Recent No. 10 draft picks include Paul George in 2010, C.J. McCollum in 2013, and Mikal Bridges in 2018.
The Pelicans have four more draft picks as they own the 38th pick, as well as draft rights to the 34th pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 43rd pick from the Washington Wizards and the 53rd pick from the Dallas Mavericks.
