Jai Herbert to make UFC Debut Against Francisco Trinaldo at ‘Fight Island’

Former Cage Warriors champion Jai Herbert will finally step in the actual octagon in UFC's first 'Fight Island' card.

The 32-year-old lightweight will be welcomed by Brazilian veteran Francisco Trinaldo at the July 25 UFC show in Abu Dhabi.

Combate was the first to report the scheduled contest.

Jai Herbert to make UFC Debut

Herbert was supposed to make his UFC debut against Marc Diakiese last March 21 had the UFC London show happened. The coronavirus pandemic caused plans to change thus, cancelling most of the scheduled UFC events.

The 10-1 Herbert is currently on a  six-fight winning strea with five knockouts as the veteran Trinaldo welcomes him to the eight-sided cage.

Trinaldo (25-7) has been with the UFC since his stint on the very first Ultimate Fighter Brazil season in 2012. The Brazilian vet holds wins over Paul Felder, Jim Miller, Evan Dunhan, Yancy Medeiros, John Makdessi and Bobby Green.

The main card of the 'Fight Island' card will be a middleweight showdown between former 185-pound champ Robert Whittaker and former welterweight contender Darren Till.
