Miami Dolphins in Pursuit of No. 1 Pick in NFL Draft

Report: Mike Brown played key role in Bengals' meet with Joe Burrow

The Miami Dolphins aren't contented with the three first round picks they have. The team is reportedly making a run at the No. 1 selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

That's because the Dolphins are highly interested in Louisiana State University quarterback Joe Burrow, who is considered the top prospect in the draft.

The Heisman Trophy winner played for Ohio State before transferring to LSU in 2018

Dolphins wants No. 1 Pick in draft

Miami already has decent draft picks owning the No. 5, No. 18 and No. 26 picks. They got the 18th overall pick in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, and the No. 26 from the Houston Texans for offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.

The Dolphins are now eying to do the same with the No.1 pick. The team also owns the 39th, 56th and 70th picks which they are ready to part ways with to move up the draft.

Former No. 1 Picks available in free agency

A pair of former No. 1 overall picks hit the open market this free agency.

Cam Newton, the 2011 No. 1 pick was released by the Carolina Panthers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers let their own top pick, the 2015 No. 1 pick Jameis Winston walk into free agency.

The Dolphins have several options if they want a No.1 pick. If the Bengals put an exponential price on the No. 1 pick in the 2020 draft, they can sign either Newton or Winston.

Miami already has Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen under contract after acquiring them from the Arizona Cardinals last year.
