The highly-anticipated Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury rematch now has a set date.

Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury rematch officially set
Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said he chose the date as it allows the most coverage possible for the fight."Everybody involved factored in that, it was the big date they could get the most bang and publicity for the event," Arum said.
"The college football season is over, the NFL season is over, the playoffs haven't started yet in the NBA, and March Madness is a month away," he explained further.
It is indeed the perfect date to be the sole headline of its season as the buildup and hype will completely take over the sports news cycle. It is just fitting to have this highly-anticipated rematch after the first fight ended in a split draw.
Impressive since the draw
Wilder and Fury have kept their no-loss records since their last encounter. This rematch will be part of a three-fight agreement between the them.
Fury’s fought twice last June and September and won both. He won the June fight vs Tom Schwarz via second-round TKO, and marked memorable win over Otto Wallin last September in which he got a hideous cut over his eye.
Wilder’s finished his two opponents in May and November. First was when he knocked out Dominic Breazeale in the first round in May, and giving Lus Ortiz a sample of his incredible power last Nov. 23.
Wilder vs Fury was a match in the making when it was first set. The two had no other option than face each other but when it happened, it also needed an extra bout to decide. will one finally come out the winner this time?
