Manchester United are making inquiries about the availability of Bayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller.
Reports of United's interest came after the 30-year-old admitted a few weeks ago about considering his future with Bayern Munich. Muller isn't pleased that the team sees him fit to only make an appearance off the bench.
Muller has been making substitute appearances for six games in a row already. His return to the starting line-up on Tuesday was a statement game for Muller. He set up two goals to help his team to a 3-2 win against Olympiacos.
United interested in Muller
United have been interested in the Bayern Munich forward for a long time now. The team had tried to sign back when Louis van Gaal was manager. Inter Milan is also said to be interested in Muller. There were rumors about a move for Muller to Serve A during the January transfer window.
Muller's contract with Bayern Munich is until 2021. Though United is interested in the 30-year old forward, his recent decline in play makes it questionable for him to move to the Premier League in the January transfer window next year.
Does United need Muller?Manchester United team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has favored young British players over expensive foreign players since he took over. He can still use Muller's experience shall plans push through.
The Red Devils are starting to get their feel with such a young core. Though they aren't playing Champions League level right now, Muller might be interested in making that happen.
United is experiencing their worst start ever in the Premier League right now. Solskjaer's taste for young talent is a long-term project. It would be good to add a top-class veteran forward to add a goal or two for the team.
