EURO 2020 qualifiers: France, Iceland, Turkey wins respective matches



Europe is bracingnext summer’s big tournament. France, Iceland and Turkey have booked their tickets after picking up wins in Sunday’s Euro qualifying action.
UEFA Europe's defending champions Portugal have already clinched qualification but what about how the rest of Europe faired? Let's talk about them.

Albania 0-2 France

Albania fought had in front of a newly opened 22,500-seat stadium but World Cup champions France proved to be too much for the home team.

France’s Corentin Tolisso inaugurated Air Albania Stadium scoring a well-placed header 
just eight minutes into the gameLeo Dubois then connected with Antoine Griezmann, who slotted the ball into the bottom-right corner in the 31st minute.

The win places France on top of Group H with 25 points. The world champions lost only once in 10 matches which was a 2-0 loss against Turkey.

Andorra 0-2 Turkey

Turkey easily coasted past Andorra 2-0. Real Valladolid’s Enes Unal scored all two points for Turkey in the first-half. The team completely controlled possession and had more looks at goal.

They now clinch a spot next summer after finishing second in Group H trailing France by only two points.

Moldova 1-2 Iceland

Other than the 2-2 draw in the Serbia-Ukraine game, the Moldova-Iceland was the next closest one as well.

Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson scored the second and winning goal for Iceland in the second half, as his team walked away from Zimbru Stadium with a 2-1 win on Sunday. Iceland still fell five points short of a sure seat in next year’s competition. 

Iceland will have to squeeze their way in as they partake in the Euro 2020 playoffs.
