Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson for April 2020?
Nurmagomedov and Ferguson have been scheduled to fight on four separate occasions. Each bout got cancelled for a number of reasons. Ferguson was mostly to blame since it was either he got injured or didn't make weight.
The UFC lightweight champion fought his way to a perfect 28-0 record. He won the belt by beating Al Iaquinta as a late replacement at UFC 223. He has defended the belt two times since with a fourth-round submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 229 and a third-round finish of Dustin Poirier at UFC 242.
Ferguson is the No. 1 lightweight contender and is a former interim champion He has a 25-3 record and is currently ona 12-fight win streak. Ferguson was impressive in his last four bouts with victories over the likes of Rafael dos Anjos, Kevin Lee, Anthony Pettis, and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.
This potential lightweight title fight is very interesting since both are actually the logical next fight on each other's list.
